The Generic structure of News Item

This time I will explain about the structure of the news item and I will combine the structure and news items that I created last week 

Okay before that we have to know ...


what is a news item? 

News item is a text which informs readers about event of the day. The events are considered newsworthy or important. 

It means if there is an important event that should be know by many people, then this event deserves news. Well, the news text ia Valles the news item text. However, of there there are events that people  do not deserve, then they are not definitely worth to be news.


what is the structure of the news item?

• Main Event / Newsworthy Event : is the main story, a part that tells a summary of an event or important event that happened. 

• Event Background / Elwboration : tells in detail the background of the event or events that occurred, who was involved, where and how the event occurred.

• Source: the last part of the structure of news item text, a news source can be a source statement, witness comments, expert opinions, or statements from related parties of an event.

Purpose of News Item

News Item Text is used to inform readers about events of the day which are considered newsworthy or important.
– To inform the readers about newsworthy or important events of the day
– To present information the readers about newsworthy or important events of the day.

Language Feature of News Item

✓Focusing on circumstances (using a simple language in writing the text)
✓Using saying verbs: “….”, She said, informed, told, reported.
✓Sometimes at the beginning of news, the scene is mentioned : Jakarta – … .. / Kuala Lumpur – …
✓Using Past tense in explaining news events. But if it is a fact that until now still happen or still in the form of fact, then can use simple present tense.
✓Short, telegraphic information about story captured in headline
✓Using adverbs: time, place and manner.
✓Uses of material processes to retell the event

Indonesia jails two leaders of Jemaah Islamiyah on terror charges

Elaboration	JI leader Wijayanto and deputy Budi Trikaryanto were handed seven and six-and-a-half year sentences, respectively, at a Jakarta court hearing done by videoconference due to coronavirus concerns. "The defendants prepared cadres to go to Syria as well as supported them financially while on the mission," presiding judge Alex Adam Faisal told the East Jakarta District Court. The court said Wijayanto, 56, who took over JI's top job in 2009, recruited Indonesians to fight and train with groups, including an Al-Qaeda linked organisation, opposed to Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad between 2012 and 2018. The case against Wijayanto and Trikaryanto also included charges of belonging to a banned organisation. Indonesia outlawed JI in 2008, making it illegal to belong to the group, and cracked down on its network as the world's biggest Muslim majority nation grappled with a string of extremist attacks. Ji has been overshadowed in recent years by militant groups loyal to Islamic State. But the organisation was once synonymous with terrorism in Indonesia and has begun to rebuild its membership, according to security experts.  The 2002 bombings in a popular Bali entertainment district, which killed over 200 people, remains Indonesia's deadliest terrorist attack. Most victims were foreign holidaymakers from more than 20 countries but Australia suffered the biggest loss, with 88 dead.

Introduction a New Session In Class 12

Introduction myself

Hello guys wellcome to my blog, inthis new school year I will introduce myself again. 

My name is khalisa Isandadefi,you can call me khalisa or Ica. Myhobby is martial arts athlete, from the beginning i really like action and adventure films so i was inspired to be one a Heri on the film nya pretecting the people i care about.

Iam a student from Jakarta 27 public high school.In this new chapter I will learn new material for 12th grade lessons. Thank God I went up to class, and got a pretty good grade. This new school year is different because of the corona pandemic virus which makes learning impossible at school.

So I study through distance. I am quite sad because in my opinion distance learning is not fun. 

The material learned must be understood by yourself and not get an explanation in advance by the teacher. But I gained a new learning experience to use the application and via zoom.

In English, my teacher uses the application see, blogs, quipper, youtu and many more. I get a new experience and I quite like it. I hope to get a satisfactory grade and enter a state university.
