Ka'bah


Ka'bah  building in the middle of the holiest mosque in Islam, the Grand Mosque, in Mecca, Hejaz, Saudi Arabia. This place is the most sacred place in Islam.




There are several sections in the Ka'bah. Famous parts of the Ka'bah include Maqom Ibrahim, Hijir Ismail, Hajar Aswad and Rukun (corner) of the Ka'bah.
The Ka'bah is considered the "House of God" and is like the Temple in Judaism.


The Ka'bah is considered the "House of God" and is like the Temple in Judaism. Muslims from all over the world face the Kaaba as the point when performing their prayers (prayers). The command to pray facing the Kaaba is known as the Qiblat.

One of the Five Pillars of Islam requires that every Muslim who is able to perform the Hajj once in a lifetime. Parts of the hajj ritual, which require tawaf, rotate seven times around the Ka'bah against the clock. Tawaf is also performed by congregants while performing Umrah (minor hajj). However, most of the busy times in the Ka'bah are during the Hajj season, when millions of worshipers circle the building together for a period of five days.
